This tour will take you to a park, an old shopping street and a residential area to have a walk and join the fun with them. Temple Of Heaven is one of the nine royal altars in the past. It is the only place larger than the Forbidden City in the inner city. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest in it is the symbol of Beijing. On the tour, you will learn about the history, function, layout, significance of the buildings in the Temple of Heaven, reason, process, rituals and significance of worshipping heaven, ceremonial music, abstinence, nature worship, ancestor worship, Chinese park culture, leisure life of the locals.

Qianmen Street is the largest traditional commercial area in the past 600 years.

You will mainly walk through 6 old streets, visit some century-old shops, restaurants, hotels, banks, theaters in the rebuilt traditional shopping streets. You can see how the local snacks are made and try them,see Chinese traditional handicrafts, candies, food, etc. Walk through a traditional neibourghood and an ancient cultural street, Liulichang Cultural Street. On the tour, you will learn about the history and layout of Qianmen area and get a feel for the change and development of the old city and the people's way of life.

Shichahai Hutong Conservation area is one of the 25 conservation traditional living areas in Beijing. It's known for its natural beautiful living environment.

 

Schedule:

8:00  pick up at your hotel.
 

8:20 ---- 10:20 visit the Temple of Heaven.

10:40 ------ 14:00  walk through 6 old streets in Qianmen area and have lunch there.

14:20 ----- 17:20   Visit the Hutong area around Shichahaiand Bell and Drum Tower. Travel around the two areas by manpower pedi-cab, visit the time-reporting center (Bell Tower and Drum Tower), overlook Beijing, visit a local family, traditional residence, travel around Shichahai old residential area along Houhai lake and have a walk in Houhai bar street. There you can see how the local inhabitants pass their time and watch unique skills of folk performance in a local quadrangle.

Hutong tour routes by pedi-cab :
Rout A: travel around the Shichahai area by tricycle, go in the old residential area to see some old residence of historical celebrities and the civil residence of different styles and specifications and visit a local family.  (1.5hours, 2km by tricycle, 500m by walk)

Rout B: travel around Drum and Bell tower Hutong conservation area by tricycle and watch the unique skill of folk performance in a quadrangle. ( 1 hour) ( 3 hours, 3km by tricycle, 1km by walk. )

1. Entrance tickets, lunch, show tickets and public transportation can be paid by you on the tour. 
2. The guide service fee can be paid to me when the tour is over.
3.  You can pay in Cash. Chinese Yuan is the best.

Cancelation:  If you need to cancel the tour, please advise me 7 days before the tour starts so that I can arrange other jobs in time.
